Sometimes, it freaks me out a little just how much I can’t imagine life without Etsy. I had intended to write about living with handmade items in general, and to dedicate some space to my favourite, most well-used and best-loved handicrafts. But then I decided to narrow the scope to just the things close at hand (meaning in my office) that I got on Etsy.
My current virtual-window-shopping obsession is all about pottery. A week or so ago my friend Philip, a master with clay, invited my friend Erin and I to come to his studio to try and throw a few pots of our own. It was a lot of fun, but the best part was watching him create a bowl in under a minute. It’s always impressive and inspiring to see a master craftsman at work. continue reading »
