Feeling hodge-podgy 2
Can’t seem to focus on any one thing today, so this post will reflect the mish-mash that is my brain. My free time lately has been spent knitting, designing jewelry (but only on paper, I’ve yet to bust out the beads and metal), dreaming of a mud-room makeover, thanks in no small part to the mudroom makeover on Sarah’s House…oh, how I do adore Ms. Richardson’s country aesthetic in particular.
I’ve also been writing up plans for a few sewing projects, along with plans to set up an actual hide-away sewing station in my bedroom. To say nothing of the myriad plans for our garden. So many hostas to divide, and soon there will be so little time.
Etsy Dream Outfit (if I had someplace mildly fancy to go):
Silver Vine Studs by lilarubyking
Indigo Denim Fiji Dress by modaspia
Stack Bangle in Sterling Silver by michellechangjewelry
Library Clutch in Steel by hardsugar
Medium Heeled Clog Sandal by rabiahhodges
Notions of Sewing (stuff that inspires me to bust out the Janome):
Vintage Large Smokey Shell Buttons from MyVintageAddiction
Vintage 24 Shell Buttons on Original Card from oritdotan
Vintage Painted Leather Buttons from corrnucopia – I bought these!
Japanese Lace Zipper from buttonsandsuch
Remnant Bag from repeat; these would make the best ever patches for my gardening overalls.
Mud Room Dreams (there’s really no call for a lamp in our mudroom, but this lamp is so cool):
Blue Navy and Natural Nautical Stripe Ticking Fabric from terireeswang (to make a curtain for the pantry)
Upcycled Cabinet Door Chalkboard by ShabbyChalks
Vintage Candy Dispenser Lamp by faithfulroots
Stuff I Made! That I Can Wear!
Saffron Sweater Coat from Rowan New Shapes, knit with Rowan Ribbon Twist in Oatmeal.
Cocoon Cable Twist sweater from Haiku Knits, done in Berocco Cuzco in Oliva.
Balthazar Vest from Twinkle’s Big City Knits, done with Brown Sheep Company’s Burley Spun in Jack’s Plum.
Transverse Cropped Cardigan from Interweave Knits magazine, Spring 2010 made with Lion Brand Fisherman’s Wool in Nature’s Brown (I used the two smaller leather buttons I bought from Corrnucopia on Etsy, shown above).
I’m taking a short break from all the sweaters to knit this: The Dandy Scarf by presentsknits
And then it’s right back to sweaters, woo! I just bought this pattern from SarahMontie on Etsy:
And I’ll be using this Blue Sky Alpacas Organic Cotton in Jasper, with the four larger leather buttons from my Corrnucopia purchase:
Have I mentioned the 12 books that I want to get through before summer starts? Perhaps I’ll leave that for another post.

You are very inspiring Jo! I taught myself to knit this year, and have made a scarf. One, plain, scarf…Well done!
Wow ~ love your style! Seriously love the indigo denim dress & bangles, your knitting plans are beautiful as well. So glad the buttons will be appreciated!
